Raisin’ District 30, One Issue at a Time
This is a grassroots, people-powered movement built on real conversations, real experiences, and the everyday challenges people are facing.
These priorities reflect what we’re hearing across District 30 and the work already being done to move things forward.
Omar is focused on practical, real-world solutions—because leadership starts with listening and taking action.

Everything I believe comes back to a simple idea: people come first.
I believe in respect, dignity, fair opportunity, and focusing on real solutions—not partisan noise. I’m not running to represent a party. I’m running to represent the people in this community and the everyday challenges they face.
My focus:
Putting people before party politics
Focusing on real, local issues—not national distractions
Leading with respect, dignity, and common sense
-
We need good-paying jobs that stay here—not jobs that leave.
I believe in supporting small businesses, investing in skilled trades, and strengthening our local workforce. Our economy works best when local businesses grow and workers have real opportunities.
I’ve worked in workforce development helping people find and keep jobs, and I’ve worked in manufacturing and engineering environments. I understand both the worker’s side and how industry operates.
I don’t just talk about jobs—I help people get them, and I understand what it takes to keep them here.
My focus:
Supporting small and local businesses
Investing in skilled trades and workforce development
Keeping jobs in our community
Strengthening pathways to employment
-
Right now, too many people are doing everything right—and still falling behind.
Groceries, housing, insurance, and utilities continue to rise, and families are feeling it every day. This isn’t theoretical to me. As a sales manager in property restoration, I sit at kitchen tables with homeowners dealing with real costs—roof repairs, insurance deductibles, denied claims, and rising material prices.
I don’t have to guess what things cost—I see it every day.
My focus:
Lower everyday costs that families actually feel
Property tax relief for working families and seniors
Accountability for insurance companies and utility providers
Stabilizing housing and repair costs
-
Our schools should prepare students for real life—not just tests.
Not every student needs a four-year degree, and we need to treat skilled trades and career pathways with the same respect as college.
Through my work, I’ve helped connect people—especially those facing barriers—to real job opportunities. I’ve seen firsthand what happens when someone is given a chance.
We need to give people real opportunities—not just options on paper.
My focus:
Expanding career and technical education
Building real pathways from school to employment
Strengthening partnerships between schools and local industries
Supporting students with diverse career goals

Agriculture is a vital part of Monroe County—and it always has been.
Growing up here, I’ve seen firsthand the value of our local farmers and the role they play in feeding our communities and supporting our economy. I’ve also seen the challenges they face, and I wholeheartedly support our local farms.
Through my vocational development work, I’ve had the opportunity to work directly with both cattle and produce farms. That experience has given me a deeper understanding of their day-to-day realities—from rising costs to long-term sustainability.
I also believe in developing the next generation of farmers—making sure young people have the opportunity, support, and resources to carry this tradition forward.
Our farmers aren’t just part of our economy—they’re part of our identity.
My focus:
Supporting and protecting local family farms
Developing the next generation of farmers
Strengthening rural economies and communities
Promoting long-term agricultural sustainability

Affordable housing is becoming harder to find, and both young families and seniors are being squeezed out of options.
This isn’t just about buying a home—it’s about being able to stay in one.
Through my work in property restoration, I see the real cost of maintaining and repairing homes. I’ve sat with homeowners dealing with major repairs they can’t afford, rising insurance deductibles, and maintenance issues that only get worse over time.
Housing stability shouldn’t be out of reach for people who are working hard and doing everything right.
My focus:
Supporting responsible, community-based housing development
Helping first-time homebuyers access the market
Preserving and maintaining existing housing
Addressing rising repair and maintenance costs
-
No one should avoid the doctor because they can’t afford it.
Mental health services are also not accessible enough, and that has real consequences for individuals, families, and communities.
Through my work with individuals reentering society and others facing barriers, I’ve seen how access to care directly impacts stability, employment, and quality of life.
Healthcare should be there when you need it—not when you can afford it.
My focus:
Expanding access to affordable healthcare
Increasing availability of mental health services
Supporting community-based care options
Reducing barriers to treatment and support
-
I support law enforcement—but I also believe real safety starts long before a crime happens.
Strong communities don’t come from reaction alone—they come from prevention, opportunity, and accountability.
Through my work with individuals coming out of the prison system, I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t. When people have structure, support, and a path forward, outcomes change.
Public safety is about building a system where fewer people end up in crisis to begin with.
My focus:
Supporting law enforcement and community relationships
Investing in prevention—jobs, education, and reentry support
Reducing repeat offenses through real second chances
Strengthening neighborhoods to improve safety
-
We need to fix our roads—and fix them right.
Infrastructure is about more than roads. It’s about reliable utilities, long-term planning, and making sure our communities are built to last.
As a project manager in a civil engineering environment, I worked on mapping utilities for municipalities. I’ve seen how critical proper planning and maintenance are.
My focus:
Building and maintaining roads and bridges that last
Investing in long-term infrastructure planning
Expanding reliable internet access
Strengthening essential utilities and systems
-
People are tired of politics as usual—and they should be.
You deserve transparency, honesty, and leadership that answers to you.
Accountability isn’t just political to me—it’s personal. It’s what helped me go from being a homeless youth to where I am today.
This seat belongs to the people—not a party.
My focus:
Transparency in decision-making
Honest and accessible leadership
Holding government accountable to the people
Prioritizing community over political interests
-
I believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
We can disagree without losing our humanity. We can have different opinions without losing compassion.
As a civil servant, I believe in protecting human rights and the dignity of every person.
My focus:
Protecting human rights for all people
Promoting respect and compassion in leadership
Encouraging civil, respectful dialogue
Building a community where everyone is valued
My Approach
I focus on local impact—not national political noise
I speak as a neighbor, not a politician
I listen first
-
“I’m running because I believe in people over politics.
I grew up believing in liberty and justice for all—and that we take care of our neighbors. Right now, too many people are struggling just to keep up.
Through my work in workforce development, construction, manufacturing, and community programs, I see these challenges every day.
I want to bring common sense, accountability, and compassion back to leadership—and focus on the issues that actually matter to people.”
